چکیده

The analytical solutions of wave induced horizontal and vertical forces on perforated caissons resting on porous elastic seabed have been established. The solution in the seabed is divided into a symmetric part and an anti-symmetric part. A numerical experiment has been carried out to examine the effects on horizontal forces, vertical forces and phase lags between them due to the relative wave chamber width (ratio of the width of wave chamber and perforated caisson), the front plate porosity and the seabed combined factor. The numerical results show that the vertical forces can reach minimum with suitable relative wave chamber width. The phase lags of horizontal and vertical forces increase with the increase of seabed combined factor and have peaks at the range of wave number kd = 0.5~1.0.

Theoretical and Experimental Studies of Upright Perforated Wave Filters

Liu et al. (1987) proposed a theoretical solution for scattering of waves through a permeable dissipation region. On the basis of bulk dissipation of the incident wave energy, this method is extended to evaluate the reflection and transmission coefficients of waves through a wave filter composed of rows of perforated sheets aligned normally to the direction of wave propagation. The results of t...

Water wave-driven seepage in marine sediments

The action of water waves moving over a porous seabed drives a seepage ̄ux into and out of the marine sediments. The volume of ̄uid exchange per wave cycle may a€ect the rate of contaminant transport in the sediments. In this paper, the dynamic response of the seabed to ocean waves is treated analytically on the basis of poro-elastic theory applied to a porous seabed. The seabed is modelled as ...

A Neural-Genetic Technique for Coastal Engineering: Determining Wave-induced Seabed Liquefaction Depth

In the past decade, computational intelligence (CI) techniques have been widely adopted in various fields such as business, science and engineering, as well as information technology. Specifically, hybrid techniques using artificial neural networks (ANNs) and genetic algorithms (GAs) are becoming an important alternative for solving problems in the field of engineering in comparison to traditio...

3-D Poro-Elastoplastic Model for Short-Crested Wave-Induced Pore Pressures in a Porous Seabed

In this paper, a three-dimensional poro-elastoplastic model for the short-crested wave-induced pore pressures in a porous seabed is presented. Unlike the previous models, both elasticity and plasticity of seafloor are considered in the present model. This study considers the effects of wave and soil characteristics on the pore pressures and was validated with the previous wave experiment data. ...

A Mathematical Model for Analysis of Upright Perforated Wave Absorbers

On the basis of the continuity equation and the Bernoulli equation in the steady form, a differential equation is developed to evaluate the successive water levels within compartments of an upright perforated wave absorber. Then the initial and boundary conditions are introduced and the differential equation is solved as an initial value problem. Finally the reflection coefficient from the wave...
